What does Help Me Choose do?

Designed to fit seamlessly into your store, matching brand colours and fonts is super simple. The tool is self configured, putting you in complete control.  Simply upload a series of questions and align the answers with your products using Shopify tags and the Help Me Choose platform does the rest. The recommendations screen clearly displays the products and explains  why each one is a great option for the customer giving them the confidence and means to buy.

The Help Me Choose tool also comes fully loaded with an analytics dashboard allowing you to track performance and make data lead decisions. The reporting shows how and why customers are shopping your store and highlights areas for optimisation.

There’s three price plans to choose from all with fixed monthly costs making budgeting nice and simple. No matter the size of your business, the Help Me Choose tool can help you engage & educate customers, drive sales and gain valuable market insights.

Absolutely yes! The Help Me Choose tool is not just limited to Shopify stores or our pre defined monthly plans. Although we have created a Shopify specific platform, we can also custom build guided sales quiz’s from scratch. Our in-house team of journey architects can workshop with you to expertly design and build out a custom version of the tool with almost limitless options. Customised styling and features can be integrated as well and completely personalised analytics reporting.

Can I see how the tool is performing?

Absolutely yes! The Help Me Choose tool comes complete with a live performance dashboard where you can see exactly how it’s doing.

The performance dashboard allows you to keep an eye on all the key metrics such as number of users, number of recommended products shown, completion rate and sales figures.

With our more expensive price plans the performance dashboard delves deeper into the data. As well as showing you all the key usage and sales statistics, the HMC tool also gives you vital insight into your customers. By showing you how the customers are answering your questions you can get a clear indicator of how and why people are shopping your store, which of your products they are most interested in and why. This information allows you to make informed, data lead decisions.

Optimisation points are also made clear with question dropout reporting. This shows at exactly what point customers are clicking out of the tool. If a particular question has a high dropout then it probably needs a re-think! Could it be worded better? Is it totally relevant? Could it be making the customer feel uncomfortable? Would a real life sales assistant ask this?

The performance dashboard makes it easy to see these potential problems and prompts you to make improvements. This makes for a higher completion rate, more recommendations shown which in turn leads to more sales conversions!

Keeping tabs on monthly sales performance is also super easy. The performance dashboard keeps a tally of month on month sales. This can be a useful way of keeping track of the returns of marketing or social media campaigns and seeing if they brought more traffic to your site and if those visitors converted into customers through using the tool.

How do I configure the Help Me Choose tool?

The Help Me Choose tool is quick and easy to set up. We have step by step guides and video tutorials to help you along the way. You don't have to be a tech genius or even tech savvy to configure the tool, the platform does all the smart stuff behind the scenes!!

The first step in your guided sales quiz journey is to choose you pricing tier based on the features included and the size of your store. Once you’ve installed the software you’ll be guided through the configuration process

Starting with the Settings section simply work your way through the required fields adding in the relevant information. Here you’ll add in information such as product feeds and the URL’s of the pages you want the HMC engagement tab to appear on.

Styling is the next section, here is where you’ll make the tool fit seamlessly into your website by adding your fonts and colour pallets. Choose what colours the buttons have and how you want them to work.

Next you’ll start building out your questions and answers (top tip - we recommend drawing out your questions and and answer branches on paper, flow diagram style before starting this section as it can help you visualise what your trying to achieve). The quiz builder will guide and prompt you at each step here.

Next add your products and tags that you want the tool and switch it live. hey presto… you’ve got a guided sales quiz helping your customers find their ideal products.

Pricing

Which price plan is right for me?

There are 3 main price plans for the Help Me Choose Tool as well as a custom build option for larger/non-Shopify customers. The Help Me Choose tool is self configured for all of our 3 main pricing plans and the main differences between the plans relate to the number of monthly recommendations the tool will provide and the level of detail provided with the functionality and analytics of the tool.

Starter is our entry level plan and is the most affordable at just $19 per month. There is no limit to the number of questions you can ask or how many products you can load into the tool but you are limited to showing 100 recommendations per month. You also get a basic version of our performance dashboard. This plan is perfect for small businesses with under 1000 monthly store visits. Starter is also a great option for online retailers who only sell one type of product, such as socks for example, but have lots of different versions of their socks.

Growth is our mid tier plan and is priced at $99 per month. The growth plan gives you all of the features included with the Starter plan but the number of recommendations per month is increased up to 1000. A more advanced version of our performance dashboard is included in the Growth plan giving you insight into customer profiles and behaviours. Priority support is also included with the Growth plan meaning our team are on hand to help out with any issues you may have during the build or whilst your quiz is live. Growth is the perfect choice for medium sized retailers with larger product sets or those with between 1000 and 5000 monthly web visits to their store.

Pro is our most advanced plan for our Shopify platform. Priced at $299 per month Pro is aimed at larger retailers, stores with large product sets or stores with really strong monthly visitor numbers (more than 5000 visits per month). Pro comes with all the features of our Growth plan but gives you unlimited monthly recommendations and really allows you to deep dive into the data with custom analytics. This means we can build out custom data sets for you to forensically analyse how the tool is performing and how customers are shopping your store.

Pro comes with all the features of our Growth plan but gives you unlimited monthly recommendations and really allows you to deep dive into the data with custom analytics. This means we can build out custom data sets for you to forensically analyse how the tool is performing and how customers are shopping your store.

How do I write great questions?

At Help Me Choose we absolutely love the store assistant analogy. We like to think our app takes the place of an absolutely brilliant store assistant guiding customers to their perfect product. Engaging customers at the right time, asking the right questions and making sensible product recommendations. This process builds trust, familiarises the customer with the products and gives them the confidence to buy!

How do I make an engaging quiz for my customers?

In order to ensure the Help Me Choose quiz  is successful, it has to be both helpful and interesting! Firstly, the questions first have to be relevant to the customer and to what they’re looking for. Secondly, the whole quiz experience has to be engaging enough for the customer to stick with it until the end to see the recommendations. This might sound complicated, but by utilising a few key points of best practice, we’ll explain how this can be achieved with ease.

How many questions should I ask?

There’s no hard and fast rules here however, simplicity is key to keeping the customer engaged and the success of the tool. With this in mind we normally recommend asking between 4 and 7 questions.

However if you need to ask more questions than that to really define what the customer is looking for then do it.

Data shows us that customers convert better when the recommendations are super specific so feel free to ask as many questions as you need in order to achieve that.

Why is it important to style the quiz like my Shopify store theme?

Making the Help Me Choose tool fit seamlessly into your website is key to its success. The tool gives you, the retailer, a way to communicate directly with your customers and it’s important for them to feel like its actually you that their speaking with. The quiz is completely self configured giving you the opportunity to introduce your brand and the freedom to ask customers the questions you want to ask them in a style that suits you and your brand. Through styling the recommendations screen, you also have the opportunity to showcase your products in a way that matches you and your brand.

Customers like to feel like their communicating directly with you, the retailer, rather than a chat bot or a third party application. With this in mind its key to make sure the quiz is written in tune with your brand voice.

Configuration

How do I configure the Help Me Choose tool?

The Help Me Choose app is completely self configured. The set up process is quick and easy and you'll be guided along each step of the way. It's a very simple process and as long as you have an understanding of how your store's Shopify tagging is set up then you'll have no trouble configuring the tool.

The user interface is split up into 4 sections (Survey, Styling, Analytics and Settings) which you work your way through in a logical order to build your guided sales quiz.

Can I test the app before I put it live on my Shopify store?

Absolutely yes, you can see how the app will look and function on your store by using the "preview" button in the top right of the configuration screen.

The preview of your app will look and function exactly the same way as the live version will on your store.

Data & Analytics

How do I see if how the app is performing?

Regardless of the pricing plan you go for, the Help Me Choose app comes with data reporting so you can keep an eye on performance.

To view your performance dashboard simply click on the analytics tab on the configuration screen. Here you'll be able to find real time  performance stats across all key metrics such as user numbers, conversion rate, answers to all questions and drop out rate.

Can I see how customers are answering my questions?

Yes, this data is viewable in the analytics tab of the configuration screen on our more advanced pricing plans.

How do I know if customers are using the app and if they're happy with it?

Simply click into the analytics tab of the configuration screen and one of the first bits of data you'll see is the user numbers. From this you can see exactly how many visitors to your store opened the app.

To gauge customer satisfaction with the App we look at two key metrics.

We would first look at the completion rate. We aim for a 90% or more completion rate so if your completion rate is significantly lower then we suggest you have a re-think.

The first step in this process is to look at the question dropout data. This will tell you if there is a particular question where your customers are becoming disengaged or uncomfortable with the quiz.

If there is a standout question or two with high dropout then have a re-think of these questions and test the dropout rate again.

This data is only available with our more advanced pricing plans.

Can I add customers who use the app to my mailing list?

Not yet!
